Sox

We went to see the Red Sox last night. Pedro pitched a good game, there were 2 home runs, and they shut out the Devil Rays, breaking Terri's record as a jinx. Anyway, it was fun to see them actually play well in person. It was really cold, though (about 33). As with most sporting events, Terri was the driving force in getting me to go, but I like the Red Sox. It's fun to cheer for underdogs, and they're perennially underdogs, but it's also fun to cheer for teams that win, and they are a really great team. And since they're in the American League, they almost never play the Pirates, so there's no conflict of loyalties.

We also got our commitment letter from the bank yesterday, saying that they really will give us the mortgage(s) we applied for. So that's good news. It means there's not much short of a bona fide disaster that would keep us from getting the place at this point.
