What
is FreeDB ?
Freedb is
a database to look up CD information using the Internet. This is done
by a client (a freedb aware application, like PsychicMP3) which calculates
a (nearly) unique disc ID and then queries the database. As a result,
the client displays the artist, CD-title, tracklist and some additional
infos.
PsychicMP3
complains about a missing DLL at startup
In some very
unlikely cases, like a corrupted installation, some PsychicMp3 DLLs are
missing. Please follow the following steps:
+ Close all MP3CDDB windows
+ Uninstall MP3CDDB, using startup menu / Uninstall.
+ Download and run the PsychicMp3 distribution file
How
can I add my own filename presets ?
When PsychicMP3
rename your files, it uses a specific template you can change. The 3 default
templates are :
"(Artist) - Track - Title", for example : "(Beatles) - 02 - I Should Have
Known Better.mp3
"Track - Title", for example : "02 - I Should Have Known Better.mp3"
"Track - [Album] - Title", like : "02 - [A Hard Day's Night] - I Should
Have Known Better.mp3"
You can add custom name presets by choosing the option "More..." in the
Name Format drop-down list. Then, just select some keywords you want in
your filename: Title, Track, Album, Artist, Comments, Year, Genre, Length,
Bitrate.
How
can I add my own directory presets ?
When the "create
directory" option is on, PsychicMP3 creates a directory for your MP3 files
and move them in the new directory. The syntax of the new directory is
always : "Artist - Album". The version 2.0 of PsychicMP3 doesn't allow
you to change this. A workaround would be to use PsychicMP3 to clean the
files and then rename the directory manually.
How
can I write my own ID3 tag for a single MP3 file ?
PsychicMP3
allows you to enter an ID3 description for each MP3 file. To do so, select
"ID3 Tag" in the action drop-down list. Then, select the MP3 you want
to tag and enter some information on one of the following field : Artist,
Album, Year, Genre, or Comments.
You can pickup a genre among the following 256 one (supported by the Winamp
standard):
Blues, Classic Rock, Country, Dance, Disco, Funk, Grunge, Hip-Hop, Jazz,
