If you are interested in a puppy....
Please read this first, before sending an e-mail inquiry:
Puppies are not available immediately. We breed several carefully planned litters each year. We usually have people waiting for both companion puppies and show prospects. This means that we are very unlikely to have a puppy available NOW (or the day school gets out for the summer or in time for your daughter's birthday next month or on any other precise, predetermined date). If you must have a puppy immediately, you will need to deal with another breeder.
Our waiting list is not the typical first-come-first-served type of list. Rather, we try to spend time getting to know people who are interested in puppies, so we can match the right puppies with the right families. Families and individuals who are interested in a Foxglove puppy should be prepared to visit to meet us and the dogs. Except in very rare cases, we do not ship puppies. We can often refer people to reputable breeders in other parts of the US and Canada.
When you write... Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you are looking for in a dog. Tell us if you you are interested in a companion dog, or if your interest lies in performance activities (obedience, agility, or herding), conformation, or junior showmanship. Tell us about your previous dogs (or other pets). If this will be your first Sheltie, tell us why you are interested in the breed. We are happy to help people decide whether a Sheltie is the right breed for them.
We try to reply to inquiries promptly, but we get lots of e-mail, and when life gets hectic, it's easy to miss a few. If you don't get a reply in a week, please try again. Sometimes we need a reminder, and we won't consider it nagging!
