Sewer in the Sand
#1 -- Cool day
This sewer is tastefully displayed just off the
boardwalk. Notice the careful placement and attention to the
landscaped elements. I think I'd like one of those in my front yard.
Part one of a four-part series...

Sewer in the Sand
#4 -- Cool day
This cover shows the effect of the many years of salt
water spray on a manhole cover. Notice the raised letters and recent
addition of chewing gum.

Sand Grass Swirl
The wind makes interesting swirls in the sand with the
long blades of sand grass. I could easily do a panorama of many of
these. Maybe next trip.

Pelican Shadow on the Boardwalk
Now this was a tough shot, to keep my shadow out of the
photo and use as much of the sculpted pelican shadow as possible.

AC
Wall
This photo reminds me of a Josef Albers geometric
serigraph. Great colors, angles, shapes, textures and values.

Atlantic City Incorporated
1854 - 1999
I'm glad to see that, because of it's incorporation, no one's personal assets have been
at risk in Atlantic City since 1854, unless of course you play the slot
machines.... :-)

Water Valve
This cover is flanked by the shadow of a ribbed trash
can. Sometimes the shadows work, and sometimes they don't.
This one happens to have the valve cover shapes, the asphalt textures and
the slight blue lines to maintain viewer interest.

Cover on the Boardwalk
This rectangular cover has a little bit of rock salt
powdered on top, as if it were waiting to be eaten by the next
passerby. Uck! I wouldn't eat it for all the money in the slot
machines. Who knows what's been in there? I'm sure it's nothing
good.

AC Dept. of Sanitation, Cover with
Tracks
This square cover shows the effect of years of neglect
and disrespect, but will probably function just the same.

Drain Study
- 1999
This Atlantic City roof drain is especially elaborate
for the casino owner as signified by the
precise line work, the black underline and red highlighted screws.
Motherwell would be proud of this.
