New
Orleans Page #1 |
What a Place. |

|
Satchemo
This statue is of the famous Louis Armstrong who loved
to play the trumpet and grew up in New Orleans. Oh yah. What
phraseology! |

|
Louis Armstrong Park
Although it was cold that day, there was still a large
crowd in the Louis Armstrong Park. |

|
Louis Armstrong Park Round Hole #1
These round iron grids have other round solid plates in them. |

|
Louis Armstrong Park Round Hole
#2
There were about a dozen of them in this area. |

|
Louis Armstrong Park Round Hole
#3
So I decided to shoot four. |

|
Louis Armstrong Park Round Hole
#4
One from each quadrant of the circle. |

|
Crescent Cover on a Brick Sidewalk
Most of these Crescent Covers in the French Quarter have
locks on them due to their beauty. People were stealing them to make
kitchen hotplates. |

|
Crescent Cover with Nuts
But if you go out of that area, there are many without
locks. |

|
Crescent Cover with Weeds
No. I didn't steal one. |

|
Crescent Cover with Leaves
But I did buy a plaster cast of one for about 20 bucks,
and it was painted black and silver. I would've rather seen browns
or rusty colors. |

|
Leaves on the Crescent
This one has almost been totally covered by
leaves. If there were any more leaves, I would've walked right by. No
I don't brush them off unless there are very few options. |

|
S&WB Drain
Cleanout Cover
This one prints really great. I've had it framed
and hanging in my bedroom for almost a year now. |

|
Water Times Four
I guess this water valve installation guy had somewhere
to go that day. |

|
Capsule Utility Cover
Maybe there is a time capsule under there? |

|
S & WB
Southern and I have no idea what the WB is for. |

|
S & ?B Power?
Southern and is that a W next to the B?. |

|
Drain Cover with Leaves
The actual photo of this one has great detail. |

|
Drain Cover with Dusty Leaves
... and so does this. |

|
Sewer in the
Asphalt
Hey. What can I say? |

|
Drain Cover with Mardi Gras Beads
I couldn't resist shooting this one with beads leftover
from the Mardi Gras. |

|
Water Open in the Slate
Some of them are older than others, but this one
actually tells you which way to turn to open it. |

|
Water with Diamonds
in the Slate #1
Many of these water valves are servicing the restaurants
and commercial buildings in the area. |

|
Water in the
Crosswalk
Multi-layer yellow and white lines frequently add
interesting formal elements to a cover photo. |

|
Water with Diamonds
in the Cracks
Here is another detail ridden shot. |

|
Water in the Leaves
I was very surprised at the colors and variety of leaves
and plants on the streets. This one was shot near the street named
Desire, which is not far from where I stayed. I took the bus named
Desire to the trade show almost everyday. The passion, as you can
see, was of a photographic nature. |

|
Bell Telephone
Ma Bell is everywhere. |

|
NOPSI Cover in Sidewalk
Now let's see... New Orleans Power Supply Incorporated?
Great rust. |

|
NOPSI Cover in Roots
They might have something to do with the power needed to
light this beautiful boulevard. |

|
Trees on the Boulevard
Why do we never see pictures of this boulevard when they
show us New Orleans? |
