The Bourne UltimatumSynopsisJason Bourne, the amnesiac CIA superspy and assassin, is back and still hunting for his memories of how he was transformed into the perfect assassin. At the same time, the CIA is still hunting him. What I ThoughtThis was a fantastic movie. The action ramps up in this one as the CIA continues to hound Bourne, while he continues to have flashes of memory that lead him to further clues to his past. I complained in the second movie about the frantic camera work. Well, it's back but it feels a little tamer so you can tell what's going on while at the same time still having that visceral feeling of being in the middle of the action. Joan Allen (the awesome mom from Pleasantville) is back too with a slightly more substantial role and more sympathetic character (I also didn't like her flat and boring performance in the second movie). Finally, Matt Damon is just totally amazing. I don't know how he makes such a physical and silent character be so cerebral and expressive. I just loved the action, the cinematography, etc. Oh, and I almost forgot about the scenery! Morocco, Tunisia, Paris, London, Madrid, New York, so many beautifully shot views! Two thumbs up! |
